Weather the Storm

Nobody should have to weather the storm alone.

For the habit you're ready to change, and the days you're not.

Streaks make you afraid to come back.

Most apps optimize for your attention, not your recovery.

We're building something different.

A tour

What the app actually looks like.

Three surfaces, one shape: calm, tap-friendly, quiet on purpose. Nothing here shames you for skipping.

9:41

Day 3 of your plan

Three small steps.

  • Notice one urge without acting on it
  • A minute of slow breathing before bed
  • Text one person how today felt

Ava

Yesterday you noticed the 9pm window. Want to plan a Storm Mode tool for tonight?

Three-step plan

You finish onboarding with three doable actions. Not a wall of tasks.

Today’s check-in

Tue · 9:47 pm

How are you, right now?

One thing worth noticing

Walked past the corner store without going in. Small, but real.

Under a minute. Skip anything you want.

Under-sixty-second check-in

Your mood, urges, wins — skip anything. Honesty, not completion.

Ava · AI companion9:42 pm

I noticed today was difficult. Would you like to explore what happened together?

Yes, let’s talkLaterNot right now

Ava — an AI guide, always presented as AI

Listens more than she talks. Her memory is on, always transparent, and yours to wipe or turn off any time.

A minute in the app

Watch what happens when the storm arrives.

9:41 pm, a Tuesday

A calm today screen.

No red badges, no streak numbers, no shame. Just what you set out to do today — and a way to see people, when you want to.

9:41

Tuesday · 9:41 pm

Good to see you again.

Two things on your plan today. One is a five-minute walk.

Small step

Five-minute walk before dinner

Quick note

Text one Circle person to say hi

Storm Mode is one tap away, in the bottom bar.

The urge hits

One tap. Three choices.

Storm Mode is one tap from anywhere in the app — available before onboarding is even done. No menu. No checklist. The right choice for the moment you’re actually in.

9:41

Storm Mode

Right now, what would help?

  • Calm my mind
  • Talk with Ava
  • Contact my Circle

Nothing here is a test.

Sixty seconds later

Someone in your Circle is with you.

You aren’t obligated to reach out. But when you do, a small script goes to your Circle so no one has to guess what to say. Presence, not pressure.

9:41

Your Circle

Sam is with you.

Sam · just now

Hey — I'm here. Want to text or just sit together for a minute?

Two more people saw your signal.

You always weather it — this time with a hand.

Coastal sunrise horizon — atmospheric backdrop for the Storm Mode section.

Storm Mode

When the storm hits, you tap once.

One tap. From anywhere. Before onboarding is even done. No menu, no checklist — the smallest number of choices required to help you through the next sixty seconds.

Storm Mode

Right now, what would help?

  • Calm my mind
  • Talk with Ava
  • Contact my Circle

Nothing here is a test.

Principles

Six commitments — quietly kept.

Calm over urgency

No countdowns, no red badges, no fake stakes. Change is a long walk, not a sprint.

People over performance

Trusted humans in a small Circle beat any leaderboard. Recovery is a team sport, quietly played.

Progress over perfection

Twenty-three days of progress still happened, even after a setback. We'll help you notice.

Honesty over hype

Ava is always presented as AI. Language stays plain. Nothing exaggerated to make you feel better in the moment.

Return over rigidity

Miss a day, come back. Every return is welcomed, especially after a setback. There is no penalty for showing up again.

Consent over convenience

Every share, every notification, every visibility default respects your explicit choice, never what would grow us fastest.

Our promise

“The days of progress still happened, even after a setback.”

No streaks to shame you. No leaderboards. No fake urgency. Every return is welcomed — especially after a hard week.

A story that could be yours

What quitting nicotine can look like

It's 9pm. The urge shows up right on schedule, the after-dinner window that's tripped you up before.

You open the app. You tap Storm Mode. Your Circle sees a quiet signal that you're in a hard moment. When someone's available, they can reach out. When they aren't, the app still offers something useful right now.

You breathe for sixty seconds. It passes. The app logs what worked, so next Tuesday at 9pm the same tool is one tap away.

Whatever you're changing, smoking, drinking, scrolling, the shape is the same.

The 9pm window is a pattern I've noticed. Want to plan for it together?

  1. Anywhere in the app
  2. One tap on Storm
  3. Choose what helps

Circles

Recovery is a team sport, quietly played.

A Circle is a small, private group, five to eight people checking in on each other. Bring your own trusted people, or get matched with others going through the same thing. Either way: no feeds, no likes, no followers, no public identity.

  1. 01

Invite people you know, or opt in to be matched with peers fighting the same fight.

  2. 02

You choose what your Circle sees: milestones, check-ins, Storm Mode signals, or nothing.

  3. 03

Members receive gentle guidance, no expectation that anyone is always available.

  4. 04

Leaving a Circle is one tap. So is muting notifications. Always.

A sixty-second tour.

  1. 01

    Start with a plan

Three small, doable actions for the next few days. Not a wall of tasks. The plan comes from a carefully designed set of practical starting actions. Ava personalizes the wording, not the underlying plan.

  2. 02

    Build your Circle

Five to eight people checking in on each other, either trusted people you invite, or peers matched through the app. No feeds, no likes, no followers. Just the humans who matter, quietly present.

  3. 03

    Check in when it helps

Under a minute. Your feelings, your urges, your wins. Skip anything you want. Ava, an AI companion, always presented as AI, helps you notice patterns over time.

  4. 04

Tap Storm Mode when it doesn't

One tap, from anywhere. Breathing, a person to talk to, or grounding, whatever helps most, right now.

What's inside

Small tools, quietly connected.

Every surface answers one question: what would help right now?

  • Storm Mode

One tap, from anywhere. Breathing, grounding, a person to talk to, whatever helps in the next sixty seconds.

  • Circles

Five to eight people, quietly present, trusted people you invite, peers matched through the app, or both. No feeds, no likes, no followers.

  • A three-step plan

Onboarding leaves you with three doable actions, not a wall of tasks. Deterministic, so the plan holds even on hard days.

  • Check-ins

Under sixty seconds. Your mood, urges, wins, skip anything you want. The point is honesty, not completion.

  • Ava

An AI companion, always presented as AI. Listens more than she talks. Her memory is on, transparent, and editable, turn it off any time.

  • Journal

Private space to reflect when writing helps. Free-form or guided. Yours alone, never used to sell you anything.

  • Insights

Patterns you might not have spotted, common trigger windows, what tools actually worked, storms weathered. Never a scoreboard.

  • Learn

Short, evidence-based reads on urge management, recovery science, and the small skills that add up. Never homework.

Insights

Patterns you might not have spotted.

Weather the Storm turns weeks of small check-ins into quiet observations — the times of day that tend to be hard, the tools that have actually helped, the storms that have already passed. Never a scoreboard. Just the story you might have missed while living it.

Insights

Quiet observations.

  • Pattern

Evening urges have been stronger after stressful workdays.

  • What helped

Leaving the room has helped three times this week.

Never a scoreboard.

The pledge

  • No streaks to shame you, the days of progress still happened.
  • No leaderboards, just the people who matter to you.
  • No fake urgency, a calm hour counts as much as an intense one.
  • Ava is always presented as AI, because trust matters more than illusion.
  • Your data is yours. Always. Export or delete whenever you want.
  • You are always welcome back, even after a setback. Especially then.

Before you sign up

The straight answers.

No fine print, no dark patterns. If a question you have isn’t answered here, write to us.

  • How much will it cost?

Every new user gets seven days free, the full app, so you can see if the calm parts actually help. Card is required at signup, and we email you about 48 hours before the trial ends so you can cancel with one tap if it isn't working. After that, a monthly subscription. There isn't a free tier, subscription revenue is the whole business model, and we'd rather charge you honestly than fund the app in ways that would work against you. If your subscription lapses the app stops working until you resubscribe, including Storm Mode. We know that's a harder line than some apps take; it's the honest one for how we're building this. Exact price isn't set yet.

  • When does it launch?

Beta on iOS and Android sometime in the coming months. We'd rather be six weeks late and get the calm parts right than rush it out and ship something that shames you for skipping a day. When you sign up we send a confirmation email; when we launch, we send one launch email. That's the whole promise unless you separately opt in to monthly updates.

  • How is this different from other recovery apps?

No streaks. No leaderboards. No red badges. No 'you broke your streak' notifications. We don't gamify change, we support it. A three-step plan you can trust, a small Circle of trusted people, and Storm Mode when the moment gets loud.

  • How is Ava different from ChatGPT?

Ava is our AI companion, always presented as AI, never as a person, never as a therapist. Her memory is on by default so she can actually help you notice patterns over time, but it's fully transparent and editable, you can wipe it, edit any entry, or turn it off entirely from settings. She's tuned specifically for recovery moments: fewer suggestions, more listening, always calm. She's not a substitute for medical care.

  • Is my data safe?

We design the product to protect sensitive data, encryption in transit and at rest, Row Level Security so other users can't access your rows, and minimal collection by default. Raw sensitive text is deliberately excluded from analytics and lock-screen notifications. Approved service providers (like the AI provider that powers Ava) do process the specific content you send them, the full app privacy policy spells out when and what. No system is perfectly secure; we design ours to fail closed, and access by authorized systems and personnel is limited and audited.

We're building it now.

Be first to know when it's ready.

We'll send a confirmation now and one launch email when the app is ready. That's it.
